Greetings Fellow Alaskan!
One of the wonderful benefits of living in Alaska is the fact that our community is comprised of a wide spectrum of folks who have unique backgrounds and attributes. Unfortunately, many of our fellow community members do not receive the recognition they deserve for their accomplishments and personal impact upon others. Women in particular often go unrecognized for their contributions and leadership. The good news is that you have a chance to help change that fact!
This will be the 27th year YWCA Alaska and BP have honored women of achievement through their Annual Women of Achievement Award Ceremony. This event pays tribute to women who give of their time and energy to make our community a better place. It recognizes and honors women who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and excellence in their professional and personal endeavors while supporting, embodying, and complementing YWCA Alaska’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Surely, you know a woman in our community that fits in that category. Here is your opportunity to recognize and celebrate her accomplishments and contributions. Nominate her for the 27th Annual YWCA Alaska/BP Women of Achievement Awards!
A nomination form can be obtained by clicking the link to the right. All nominations must be received at YWCA Alaska’s office by 5 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016. See form for the criteria on which nominees will be evaluated and nominating instructions.
The YWCA Alaska/BP Women of Achievement Award Ceremony will be held in the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Additional details for the event, including how to purchase tickets, will be available closer to the date. However, if you or your organization are interested in becoming a sponsor for this amazing event - please contact YWCA Alaska at firstname.lastname@example.org or 907-644-9600.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of us. Otherwise, thank you in advance for helping us pay tribute to those women leaders in our community that are making a difference and inspiring others to develop into leaders in their own right!
